Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature would like to allow for real property valuation appeals to continue to find an agreeable fair market value; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature would request that the County Executive establish a request for proposals (RFP) for an unbiased third party review of all real property valuation of parcels, both agricultural & individual, before utilizing the new software values for the next assessment year; and,
WHEREAS, these unbiased third party reviews would be for the purpose of assisting Jackson County land owners with determining the fair market value of their parcels; and,
WHEREAS, it is the Legislature’s further intent that the County shall set aside current real property valuations and proceed with the recommended RFP to generate new fair market values through a diverse and accessible lens; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature does hereby express its intent that the County set aside the current valuations and the allow the continuance of appeals regarding assessment.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
