Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids for the furnishing of comprehensive medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services for use by the Department of Corrections; and,
WHEREAS, a total of thirteen notifications were distributed and two responses were received and evaluated as follows:

WHEREAS, an evaluation team made up of representatives from the Department of Corrections and Truman Medical Center evaluated the bids on the basis of electronic records and reporting capabilities, financial stability, corporate experience and background, pharmacy programs, references, staffing, and transition implementation plans, with a total of 700 points possible; and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids received, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a thirty-six month contract with two twelve-month options to extend for the furnishing of comprehensive medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services to Correctional Healthcare Companies of Greenwood Village, CO, at a cost to the County not to exceed $2,202,891.00, for the reason that it submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient funds have been appropriated to the using spending agency in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
