A RESOLUTION congratulating Dr. Jack L. Marvin on having received the 1996 Cleveland Chiropractic College Alumnus of the Year Award.

Body
WHEREAS, Dr. Jack Marvin is a man of distinction having made significant efforts and achievements in the chiropractic field; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin received his doctor of chiropractic in 1957 and in 1959 was certified by the Missouri Society of American Registry of Clinical Radiology Technologists; and,
WHEREAS, his areas of professional study include veinupuncture and acupuncture, and master certification in evaluation of patients for permanent partial disability pursuant to AMA guidelines; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin is licensed by the Board of Chiropractic Examiners in the States of Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, and Oklahoma; and,
WHEREAS, from 1960-65, Dr. Marvin was a full professor at the Cleveland Chiropractic College, teaching clinical procedure, nutrition orthopedy, osteology, palpation and physical diagnosis and, since 1989, he has been a participating physician in Cleveland Chiropractic College's preceptor program; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin has been actively involved in many organizations, including membership on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of Cleveland Chiropractic College, Missouri Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Missouri State Chiropractic Association, Chiro-Net, Arthritis National Research Foundation, among many others; and,
WHEREAS, he has also generously contributed his time and talents by chairing various committees of the Missouri State Chiropractic Association, and has served as an officer on many boards and organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin has earned particular distinction for his many awards over his professional career, including the 1996 Cleveland Chiropractic College Alumnus of the Year Award; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin is to be commended for his illustrious career in the chiropractic field and his tremendous record of involvement as a leader for Cleveland Chiropractic College; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Dr. Jack L. Marvin upon receiving the 1996 Cleveland Chiropractic College Alumnus of the Year Award.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
