A RESOLUTION congratulating James F. Kanatzar for his appointment as the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney and acknowledging County Executive Michael D. Sanders for the efforts of his administration in making the appointment in an open public forum.

Body

WHEREAS, James F. Kanatzar is a 1985 graduate of Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, MO, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in Kansas City, MO; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Kanatzar has been an integral figure in the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's office since 1992 where he has shared his knowledge and expertise on the Drug Abatement Response team, Jackson County Drug Task Force, Homicide Committee, White Collar Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, as a Trial Team Leader of the Independence Drug Unit, Chief Warrant Officer for Eastern Jackson County, Chief Trial Assistant for Eastern Jackson County, and most recently as the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney;  and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Kanatzar was the recipient of the 2000 Louis Lombardo Prosecutor of the Year award, and was appointed by order of the Missouri Supreme Court to serve on its Regional Disciplinary Committee for Region IV; and,

WHEREAS, County Executive Michael D. Sanders has undoubtedly chosen the best person for the job and has done so with integrity in a public forum to enable Jackson County citizens the opportunity to participate in the selection process; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the newly appointed Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney, James F. Kanatzar, and commends County Executive Michael D. Sanders for his selection and the selection process.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
