A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an amendment to the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding with Carpenters' District Council of Kansas City & Vicinity regarding the terms and conditions of employment of members of its bargaining unit within the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for the purpose of including certain employee classifications within the Family Support Division and transferring an amount not to exceed $65,693.00 within the Prosecuting Attorney's 2005 General Fund budget to cover the cost of the amended agreement and other salary increases for non-bargaining unit employees.

WHEREAS, by Resolution 15512, dated June 6, 2005, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute the 2005 - 2007 Memorandum of Understanding ("2005 Memorandum") with the Carpenters' District Council of Kansas City & Vicinity regarding the terms and conditions of employment of members of its bargaining unit within the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, since the time of the negotiation of the 2005 Memorandum, certain employees within the Family Support Division have taken steps to become part of this bargaining unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Union's bargaining unit ratified the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding; and the County Executive has executed said Memorandum; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney and the Union have no objection to the inclusion of these employees within the bargaining unit; and,
WHEREAS, inclusion of these employees requires an amendment of Article I, Section 1 of the 2005 Memorandum to provide terms for the inclusion of these employee classifications set forth in the attached Exhibit A and specification of the employee classifications that will not be included in the bargaining unit as set forth in the attached RLA; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends approval of the proposed amendment to the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer of $65,693.00 is necessary to cover the costs of this proposed amendment to the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding and other salary increases for non-bargaining unit employees recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, the approval of this Memorandum of Understanding is in the best interest of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the proposed amendment to the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:
