INTRODUCED BY DaRon McGee, Megan L. Marshall, Jalen Anderson, Donna Peyton, Manuel Abarca IV, Venessa Huskey, Charlie Franklin, Jeanie Lauer, and Sean E. Smith, County Legislators

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, Donald A. Rankins, Network Support Technician for the Jackson County Information Technology (IT) Department, will be leaving his position on June 23, 2023, to pursue other ventures; and,

 

WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, Donald has exhibited outstanding dedication and commitment; and,

 

WHEREAS, Donald was a recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Technical Award on Public Employees Recognition Day in May 2021, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the County; and,

 

WHEREAS, Donald has been the lead technician responsible for the Granicus software application, which enables the public to view Legislative meetings, showcasing his proficiency in managing and maintaining key technological platforms; and,

 

WHEREAS, Donald’s commitment to service is evident through his hosting of weekly County Legislative virtual meetings, where he has exemplified remarkable patience and assistance to attendees facing last-minute technical challenges; and,

 

WHEREAS, Donald’s instrumental involvement in the Recorder of Deeds software upgrade project and subsequent support has showcased his leadership and technical prowess, establishing him as the go-to technician for this application; and,

 

WHEREAS, despite the demands of his daily responsibilities, Donald has consistently prioritized IT support ticket requests, demonstrating his commitment to timely resolution and outstanding customer service; and,

 

WHEREAS, Donald’s exceptional performance and positive attitude toward customer service have allowed him to develop strong relationships and rapport with key departments, earning him their trust and admiration; and,

 

WHEREAS, beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald is a loving father and actively participates in community service, exemplifying his commitment to his family and the well-being of his community, including his involvement in the 15th and the Mahomies playground project at Martin Luther King, Jr. Square Park in Kansas City, MO, and his IT computer service business ventures; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature acknowledges and commends Donald A. Rankins for his outstanding service and extends best wishes on his future endeavors.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
