Body
WHEREAS, Benilde Hall's "Transitional Living" program is designed to promote balanced and responsible independent living in Jackson County for the recovering homeless through transitional housing and substance abuse treatment; and,
WHEREAS, Benilde Hall has requested $90,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as a local match to a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs funding for this program in the amount of $200,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Cooperative Agreement with Benilde Hall for its "Transitional Living" program at a cost to the County not to exceed $90,000.00, to provide a local match to a federal grant; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
