Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 112-00 for the furnishing of a backhoe loader with attachments for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this new loader has rendered certain existing equipment as surplus property, to wit: one (1) 1990 John Deere backhoe, model 310C, one (1) 1988 Maxi Sweep, model 192-07010, and one (1) 1980 Ford tractor, model 14600; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §1134., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Purchasing Director has requested that he be authorized to dispose of this equipment by way of trade-in; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the only three bids on the new loader, less trade-ins, bids from the following:

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has declared the bid of Rex Spencer Equipment Co. as non-responsive, as that vendor listed 34 exceptions to the bid's specifications; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Mid-America Industrial Equipment Co. for the reason that is has submitted the lowest and best bid meeting specifications; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the listed existing equipment be and hereby is declared surplus property and the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
