WHEREAS, Keith is the proud husband of Sandy and proud father of Ronda and Tricia Querry; and,
WHEREAS, Keith entered into the Labor Movement in 1975 as a member of the IBEW while employed at Missouri Public Service Company; and,
WHEREAS, in 1975 Keith was appointed business representative of IBEW Local 53 and in 1981 he was appointed business manager and financial secretary; and,
WHEREAS, he was also appointed to the IBEW International Executive Council in 1992 ; and,
WHEREAS, from 1992 to present Keith has served as an elected member of the IBEW International Executive Council; and,
WHEREAS, Keith also serves as Chairman of the Missouri Valley Line Constructors Apprenticeship & Training program, Line Construction Benefit Fund, IBEW Outside Task Force, and IBEW Local 53 Safety Committee; and,
WHEREAS, he is also a board member of the Labor Management Council of Greater Kansas City and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, Keith serves as treasurer and financial secretary of Missourians for Affordable Reliable Electric Service; and,
WHEREAS, Keith's service and hard work in the Labor Movement has been an invaluable asset to the IBEW Local 53; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulate Lyle Keith Querry on being named 2005 Labor's Representative of the Year Award.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
