IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION congratulating Billie Jean Petty upon her seven years with the County and wishing her well on her retirement. Intro RESOLUTION #12503, January 4, 1999 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Billie Jean was born to Mabel and Harold Hughes in Buchanan County, Missouri on November 1, 1933, and she later graduated from Sumner High School, becoming a licensed cosmetologist; and, WHEREAS, on August 24, 1992, Billie Jean began working for Jackson County as a temporary passenger elevator operator for the Building Services Department; and, WHEREAS, on December 12, 1992, Billie Jean was promoted to the full-time position of office equipment operator in the Office Services Department; and, WHEREAS, in her capacity as office equipment operator, Billie Jean has been responsible for picking up, sorting, and delivering inter-office mail, and handling outgoing U.S. mail, as well as assisting in the duplication of documents; and, WHEREAS, Billie Jean has been a member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ for over 36 years, where she has served as the president of the adult choir for 18 years; and, WHEREAS, she has also served as the announcer for the Radio Club and Church Condolence Clerk, and has been a member of the Shepherds Fold Advisory Council, Mass Choir, and Membership Board; and, WHEREAS, Billie Jean has four children, Barry Craig, Lynn Michele, Earlita Laree, Derrick Errol, and four wonderful grandchildren; and, WHEREAS, Billie Jean plans to spend her retirement continuing her church work, as well as traveling and possible working part-time; and, WHEREAS, warm friendship and appreciation go out to Billie Jean for her seven years of outstanding service to Jackson County; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Billie Jean Petty upon her retirement, and wishes her well in all future endeavors...Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
