IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with Young Lawyer's Association of K.C. Foundation for a project entitled "Protect Your Child Day," with a local match from the County not to exceed $3,000.00. Intro RESOLUTION 12822, August 2, 1999 INTRODUCED BY Dan Tarwater, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the Young Lawyer's Association of K.C. Foundation's "Protect Your Child Day" project is a one-day event which will provide a comprehensive array of workshops, activities, and presentations for children and parents on matters such as drug abuse prevention, traffic and fire safety, self-esteem, drop-out prevention, health issues, and legal as well as economic resources; and, WHEREAS, the Young Lawyer's Association of K.C. Foundation has received private grants from Shook, Hardy and Bacon L.L.P., Local Investment Commission (LINC), and Stinson, Mag & Fizzell in the aggregate amount of $6,000.00; and, WHEREAS, the Young Lawyer's Association has requested County Anti-Drug Sales Tax matching funds in the amount of $3,000.00; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement, with the Young Lawyer's Association of K.C. Foundation for the Protect Your Child Day project; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
