Body

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, §§99.880. et seq., RSMo, the council of the City of Independence has approved the Tax Increment Financing Plan for the Santa Fe Trail Neighborhood Redevelopment Project; and,

WHEREAS, this project will include two car dealerships; and,

WHEREAS, the developer of this project, McProperties, L.L.C., the City, and the County desire to ensure that the taxes generated from economic activities within the redevelopment project area and particularly from the dealerships, receive proper treatment under state law; and,

WHEREAS, to that end, the developer, the City, and the County have negotiated the attached Cooperative Agreement, which will govern as to this issue; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of this Cooperative Agreement is in the best interests of the Health, Welfare, and Safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with McProperties, L.L.C., and the City of Independence.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
