Body
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has a need for workers’ compensation and liability insurance; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing issued Invitation to Bid No. 24-067 for the furnishing of brokerage services for this insurance; and,
WHEREAS, a total of twenty-seven notifications were distributed and three responses were received and evaluated on the basis of responsiveness to proposal, proposed method of performance, qualifications and experience, references, and pricing:

and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing, after receiving the report of a review committee, recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with four twelve-month options to extend, to Cowell Insurance Solutions of Overland Park, KS, as the best bid received; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate the County to pay any specific amount, with an estimated cost of $15,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award, including any documents relating to excess workers’ compensation insurance required by state law; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, for both insurance premiums and brokerage fees and commissions, including final payment on the contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
