WHEREAS, the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority has advised the Legislature that the Authority has arrived at an understanding with the Kansas City Royals Baseball Corporation and Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc., concerning the terms and obligations of new 25-year lease agreements for the stadiums, parking facilities, and common areas of the Harry S Truman Sports Complex, which agreements have been reduced to writing for execution by and between the parties; and,
WHEREAS, the Agreement by and between the Sports Complex Authority and Jackson County, dated October 31, 1970, concerning the lease of said Harry S Truman Sports Complex, provides that all subleases shall be made only with the approval of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed lease agreements between the Authority and the Kansas City Royals Baseball Corporation and Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc., are such subleases; and,
WHEREAS, copies of the proposed subleases by and between the Authority and the Kansas City Royals Baseball Corporation and Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc., are attached to this resolution; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to approve, on behalf of Jackson County, Missouri, the proposed subleases between the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority and the Kansas City Royals Corporation and Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
