Intro
RESOLUTION #16557, March 3, 2008
INTRODUCED BY Scott Burnett, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) requires support in the area of GIS data sharing, as it is impractical for MARC to create its own GIS data; and,
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the appropriate vehicle to allow the County to support MARC in its regional efforts; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed MOU creates restrictions on the redistribution of data, what uses are appropriate for the data once at MARC, and provides that MARC can not redistribute or release the data without the permission of the County; and,
WHEREAS, this cooperative effort involves all counties in the MARC region, many of which have already entered into similar agreements; and,
WHEREAS, the attached MOU with MARC adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties with regard to this arrangement, at no cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Execute be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the Mid-America Regional Council.
