A RESOLUTION authorizing the execution of an addendum to the contract awarded under Proposal No. PP20071 to The Bratton Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $91,300.00, providing for the retrofit of one additional jail module under this contract for an additional cost not to exceed $88,977.00, for a total amount not to exceed $180,277.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature did, by Resolution No. 16401, dated September 17, 2007, awarded a contract under the terms and conditions of Proposal No. PP20071 for the Sliding Device Retrofit Project for use by the Department of Corrections at the Jackson County Detention Center at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $91,300.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections has recommended that the County execute an addendum to that contract; and,
WHEREAS, this addendum will expand the approved project to include the retrofit of an additional jail module at an additional cost of $88,977.00 with a cost savings of over $2,300 if completed under a separate contract; and,
WHEREAS, all terms and conditions of proposal number PP20071 remain in full force and effect for this requested addendum; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
