Body
WHEREAS, the National Association of Medical Examiners has established new accreditation standards relating to the maximum number of cases allowed per physician; and,
WHEREAS, there is a nationwide shortage of qualified forensic pathologists; and,
WHEREAS, the County has the opportunity to retain Dr. Miguel Laboy, a graduating Forensic Fellow, at the completion of his program, June 30, 2006, which will enable the County to more readily comply with the new caseload accreditation standards established by the National Association of Medical Examiners; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary in order to place the necessary funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2006 Health Fund be and is hereby made:
