IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
A RESOLUTION transferring $933,880.00 within the 2026 General Fund, and $74,880.00 within the County Improvement Fund to hire additional staff and provide such staff with necessary equipment and vehicles for security for the Public Safety Campus courtrooms use by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County has constructed and opened a new Public Safety Campus that contains both the new Jackson County Detention Facility and courtrooms; and,
WHEREAS, the operation of the courtrooms will allow a portion of judicial system business to be conducted on the Public Safety Campus; and,
WHEREAS, the safe operation of the courtrooms will require additional personnel, equipment, and vehicles to ensure security of 16th Circuit Court personnel, witnesses, observers, and others; and,
WHEREAS, the courtrooms are planned to open in July of 2026; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need for one (1) sergeant, six (6) deputies, and two (2) courthouse security officers; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfers be made within the 2026 General Fund and 2026 County Improvement Fund:
