A RESOLUTION commending Ray Rivera, Jr. for his extraordinary efforts in pursuit of the National Golden Gloves championship and congratulating him on an impressive runner up finish.

Body

WHEREAS, Ray Rivera, Jr., recently achieved an impressive runner-up finish in his weight class in the National Golden Gloves boxing championship in Kansas City; and,

 

WHEREAS, Ray dedicates long hours and hard work in the  development of the skills that enable him to enjoy a national spotlight in the world of boxing where he has fought bouts in California, Las Vegas, New York, and Mexico City, and has won two national titles; and,

 

WHEREAS,  his commitment to success and his desire to represent his community with dignity, whether it be in the ring or as a counselor at a camp for underprivileged children, should be recognized as a positive model for our youth and adults; and,

 

WHEREAS, Ray is the son of Ray Rivera, Sr., and Cassandra Pryzocki and brother to siblings  Jesse, Nieko, Dominick, Lil Devon, Anessa, and Mariah; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Ray Rivera, Jr., on his impressive finish in the National Golden Gloves championship, extends appreciation for his respectful representation of our community, and offers best wishes for continued success in the future.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
