WHEREAS, the City of Raytown has requested the County's assistance in funding its recycling center; and,
WHEREAS, the center, which is open to all, serves approximately 11,500 residents of eastern Jackson County, many from the unincorporated area; and,
WHEREAS, Raytown is actively seeking additional funding for the center; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County that the county assist the City of Raytown in this valuable and worthwhile project; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $5,000.00 to the City of Raytown for its recycling center.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
