IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
A RESOLUTION awarding a term and supply contract on Bid No. 4-06 for the furnishing of janitorial services for use by the Facilities Management Department, Medical Examiner's Office, Public Works Department, and Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners to Modern Maintenance of Lenexa, KS, to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming twenty-four month period.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited written bids on Bid No. 4-06 for the furnishing of janitorial services for use by the Facilities Management Department, Medical Examiner's Office, Public Works Department, and Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming twenty-four month period; and,
WHEREAS, a total of five responses were received, one of which was a no bid and one of which was subsequently withdrawn; and,
WHEREAS, the responses remaining were received from the following:
Modern Maintenance
Lenexa, KS
ABM Janitorial
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO
Woodley Building Maintenance
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO
and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1054.7 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that the contract be awarded to Modern Maintenance of Lenexa, KS, for the reason that, while not the lowest bidder, it has submitted the lowest and best bid due to the less than one percent cost difference between the two lowest bids and Modern's ability to perform, quality of prior performance, and quality and availability of service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have been made in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
