Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution15651, dated October 3, 2005, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an agreement with Coventry Health Care of Kansas, Inc., of Kansas City, MO for the furnishing of group health insurance as an employee benefit with two annual renewal options; and,
WHEREAS, it now appears that the exercise of the first annual renewal option for group health will be at a significantly increased cost to the County and its employees for the 2007 fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature desires that the Administration test the insurance market to determine if the exercise of the health insurance option will be the best course of action for the 2007 fiscal year; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Administration be and hereby is directed to issue a Request for Proposal for the purpose of soliciting bid proposals for group health care insurance for the 2007 fiscal year.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
