Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Commission has recommended an agreement with Shooter's Touch (basketball) Academy, LLC, for its intervention program which provides a basketball camp during the fall, to target youths in the third through eighth grades who are at risk for early school departure, at a cost to the County not to exceed $20,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, this program will focus on retention in school as well as providing self-discipline, a program for the arts, homework assistance, and violence and drug prevention; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2014 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with Shooter's Touch Academy, LLC, for the furnishing of a basketball camp and youth development program, in the amount of $20,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
