WHEREAS, the Children Against Violence Art Contest is an event sponsored by the Meet Me in the Middle Peace Coalition to encourage area youth to express their feelings through an art therapy program offering insight to an individual's personality, interests, and concerns; and,
WHEREAS, the winning artwork will be prominently displayed on billboards in the community to promote artistic alternatives for the development of at risk youth; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Meet Me in the Middle Peace Coalition, at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
