WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office is in need of ten new Dodge Charger patrol vehicles and five Ford Interceptor Utility vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing solicited formal written bids on Request for Proposals No. 40-12 for these vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, a total of thirty-three notifications were distributed and the four lowest responses were evaluated as follows:

WHEREAS, an evaluation committee reviewed the proposals and evaluated each bidder on the basis of interest rates and pricing; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of contracts for five Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles to Dick Smith Ford of Raytown, MO, and ten Dodge Charger vehicles to Landmark Dodge of Independence, MO, under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals No. 40-12, at an aggregate cost to County for 2012 not to exceed $125,049.36, for the reason that each has submitted the lowest and best bid for each vehicle type specified; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using agency are contained in the then current County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
