Body

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments have a need for the furnishing of Ford parts for departmental operations; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the  award of a twelve (12)-month term and supply contract  for the furnishing of Ford parts for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to Independence Lincoln Mercury of Independence, MO, under the terms and conditions set forth in an existing government contract of the City of Independence, MO, No. 235-06, due to higher volume discounts offered to larger entities; and,

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases  subject to annual appropriation; and,

 

WHEREAS, the contract will include two twelve-month options to extend upon the same terms, which can be exercised by the parties upon mutual agreement; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
