Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13216, dated May 15, 2000, the Legislature did authorize contracts with certain municipalities within the County for the purpose of funding their 1999-2000 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs, at a total aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,144,180.80; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13344, dated September 5, 2000, the Legislature did reduce the total funding authorized by Resolution 13216 by $10,187.00, to a new total of $1,133,993.80; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Grandview has requested supplemental funding for its DARE program in the amount of $24,715.00, which would bring its total 2000 DARE funding to $99,417.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney recommends that the City's request be funded out of his grant match request; and,
WHEREAS, the funding of the City's supplemental DARE request is in the best interests of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this request, a transfer is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2000 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Addendum to Agreement with the City of Grandview; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the Agreement and Addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
