AN ORDINANCE appropriating $18,200.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Grant Fund in acceptance of the Sheriff’s Office Hazardous Moving Violation Enforcement Grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway Safety and Traffic Division, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a contract for the acceptance and expenditure of such grant funds.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff Office has been awarded grant funds by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway Safety and Traffic Division for hazardous moving violation enforcement in the amount of $18,200.00; and,
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to conduct enforcement actions in order to decrease speed, hazardous driving related injuries, and fatality crashes; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office recommends the acceptance of this award and the execution of a contract with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway Safety and Traffic Division; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
