IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
AN ORDINANCE transferring $1,000,000.00 within and appropriating $1,000,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 Public Building Corporation Capital Projects Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement for Reimbursement of Expenditures with the Office of Administration of the State of Missouri to provide matching funds for the restoration of the Truman/Jackson County Courthouse on the Square in Independence.

Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri General Assembly has awarded the County funding in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for the restoration of the historic Truman/Jackson County Courthouse on the Square in Independence; and,
WHEREAS, the State has agreed to provide this funding on a fifty/fifty (50/50) match basis for expenses incurred during the restoration of the courthouse, as set forth in the attached Agreement for Reimbursement of Expenditures; and,
WHEREAS, the County now has available matching funds in the amount of $1,000,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation and transfer are necessary in order to place the State and County matching funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation and transfer as amendments to her proposed 2002 County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation and transfer be and hereby are made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement for Reimbursement of Expenditures with the Office of Administration of the State of Missouri, to provide matching funds for the restoration, design, construction, restoration, and renovation of the historic Truman/Jackson County Courthouse on the Square in Independence.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
