Body
WHEREAS, Heather L. Spiva is retiring after 25 years of noteworthy service to the citizens and community of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Heather's service to Jackson County began in March 1985, when she became a secretary with the Little Blue Valley Sewer District; and,
WHEREAS, Heather quickly displayed her proficiency and knowledge and was promoted to Accounting Supervisor in April 1989; and,
WHEREAS, upon her return to school, Heather attained her Bachelor of Science in Management and Accounting from Park University in 1995; and,
WHEREAS, her expertise with the operations of the Little Blue Valley Sewer District led to her promotion to Director of Finance in May 2003; and,
WHEREAS, Heather's co-workers and staff have found her to always be upbeat, positive, well-respected, loved, never without a smile, never overwhelmed by her job, and an outstanding accountant; and,
WHEREAS, Heather's family is deeply important to her and her grandchildren are her whole life; and,
WHEREAS, Heather's contribution to the community and her dedication and exceptional service to the Little Blue Valley Sewer District will be sincerely missed; and,
WHEREAS, Heather's longtime partner, Mike Davis, Heather's daughter, Misty Miller, and her five grandchildren, Tabby, Bryson, Kennedee, Jansynn, and Bradey, join in the commemoration of her retirement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes Heather L. Spiva for her 25 years of outstanding dedication and service to the Little Blue Valley Sewer District, and extends best wishes to her in the future.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
