Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded a grant in the amount of $53,875.00 to the Family Court Division of the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri for its Victim Advocacy Program; and,
WHEREAS, the Victim Advocacy Program provides services to children and their non-offending family members seen at the Child Protection Center, a project of Jackson County Family Court Services; and,
WHEREAS, comprehensive services for the Victim Advocacy program will include crisis intervention, follow-up, referral, and linkage to therapy and other needed community services, and support and advocacy throughout the investigation and any medical or court proceedings; and,
WHEREAS, the term of this grant is from July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is required in order to place the grant monies in the proper spending accounts for use by the Family Court Division; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2006 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:
