WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase nine (9) full-size sedans with police package, two (2) mid-size sedans, and one (1) minivan; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the purchase of the sedans from Joe Machens Ford of Columbia, MO, under State of Missouri Contract Nos. C101410001 and C10200103 and the minivan from Roberts Auto Plaza, Inc., of Platte City, MO, under the Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing's Cooperative Fleet Bid No. 12-002, an existing government contract of the City of Lee's Summit, MO; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064., Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchases under the existing government contracts be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchases; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contracts.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
