Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 73-97 (Bid Package Nos. 1-8) for the demolition and renovation of existing space for the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office; and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids submitted, the Purchasing Director recommends that the contract be divided and awarded to the vendors submitting the lowest bid for each bid package; and,
WHEREAS, award as recommended would result in the actual awards for the respective vendors as follows:

WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completing the demolition, it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed $59,000.00, which is less than 10% of the contract amount; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to approve additional expenditures which may become necessary under this contract in an amount not to exceed $59,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
