Body
WHEREAS, Laedan Galicia, known professionally as DINKC, has developed a distinctive and recognizable artistic style inspired by his upbringing as a Mexican-American navigating life between Kansas City and Mexico; and,
WHEREAS, his work is heavily influenced by the traditions of Día de los Muertos and the visual language of street art, combining intricate line work, bold illustrations, and culturally significant imagery to create pieces that speak to identity and belonging; and,
WHEREAS, DINKC’s art brings together elements of two worlds, celebrating heritage while pushing creative boundaries and contributing to Kansas City’s reputation as a vibrant hub for the arts; and,
WHEREAS, his creative success serves as an inspiration to other young Latino artists seeking to express themselves and share their stories with the broader community; and,
WHEREAS, we recognize and celebrate Laedan Galicia, also known as DINKC, for his artistic innovation, cultural storytelling, and dedication to enriching Kansas City’s artistic and cultural landscape; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature does hereby honor Laedan Galicia the artist.
