IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION congratulating Gilda Manning on her 35 years with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners, and wishing her well on her retirement. Intro RESOLUTION #12477, December 7, 1998 INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Gilda Manning has been employed in various capacities since her graduation from Central Missouri State Teachers College, including that of elementary teacher, police officer, newspaper reporter, radio editor, and telemarketer; and, WHEREAS, Gilda has also worked at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art from which she recently retired; and, WHEREAS, Gilda has spent the last 35 years with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners and has held the position of deputy election commissioner since 1980; and, WHEREAS, in her position as deputy election commissioner, she has displayed dedicated and exemplary service; and, WHEREAS, Gilda has been involved in numerous civic activities during the last 40 years including the International Relations Council of Kansas City, the Truman Depot Restoration Committee, Hope House, and the City Charter Review Committee; and, WHEREAS, Gilda also served as president of the League of Women Voters of Independence during the 1980's; and, WHEREAS, Gilda will always be remembered by her co-workers as a friend and mentor, and for her dynamic and unselfish ways; and, WHEREAS, Gilda will spend her retirement in Stover, Missouri, at her family home; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Gilda Manning upon her 35 years with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners, and wishes her well in her retirement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
