Body
WHEREAS, Marvin Kelley has worked for the Jackson County Detention Center as a Corrections Officer, Corrections Sergeant, a Case Manager, and Case Worker Supervisor, dedicating over 35 years of service to Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley has made impressive contributions to the Sheriff’s Office by relating effectively with staff and clients as well as serving as a mentor, friend, and role model throughout his extensive career; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure in the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Kelley uplifted the department for the benefit of staff and others, and showed exemplary fortitude in every area of the job, as a result, he received two meritorious awards for dedication to duty; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley is retiring from the County and his attitude, kindness, and commitment to service will be missed by staff and clients; and,
WHEREAS, his service to the department was exemplary and deserves special recognition; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley has been extraordinarily valuable to the department and will be extremely missed; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office does hereby join staff members in expressing appreciation to Mr. Kelley for his loyal and dedicated service, wishing him the best in his retirement and success in all his endeavors; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby extends its sincere congratulations to Marvin Kelley for this well-deserved recognition and honors his exemplary leadership, dedication to justice, and commitment to the success of Jackson County.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
