A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Metropolitan Community College Foundation for the Youth Space Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00, to provide a portion of a local match to a local grant.

Body

WHEREAS, the Youth Space program of the Metropolitan Community College Foundation will engage sixty students over the course of the year to address developmental outcomes; and,

 

WHEREAS, the program will work with Westport High School administrators, faculty,  and the school counselor to regularly track academic progress and behaviors of students who participate in the program; and,

 

WHEREAS, the programs primary goals are to establish strong prevention programs and to address anger management issues with the students at Westport High School; and,

 

WHEREAS, this program is supported by a grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City in the amount of $41,250.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended Anti-Drug Sales Tax funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to provide a portion of a required local match to this grant; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the  County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with the Metropolitan Community College Foundation, at a cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the agreement.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
