Title: In keeping with the historic tradition of Jackson County to provide for the aesthetic adornment of buildings and public property, I hereby promulgate the Jackson County Policy Respecting Expenditures for Aesthetic Adornment of Buildings and Public Property, as follows: Designs, plans, and specifications for the construction, reconstruction, or remodeling of any county building shall include appropriate provision for features of aesthetic ornamentation and adornment, including individual works of art, of such building. Provisions for such features shall be incorporated into such design, plans, and specifications in every case, unless waived in writing in any specific instance by the county executive. In the event that such features are so waived or dispensed with, the amount that would have been allocated to pay the cost thereof shall be available to be used, or accumulated with other moneys to be used, to pay the cost of and acquire features of aesthetic ornamentation and ...

SHIELDS COUNTY EXECUTIVE DATE: FEBRUARY 5, 1996 RE: JACKSON COUNTY POLICY RESPECTING EXPENDITURES FOR AESTHETIC ADORNMENT OF BUILDINGS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY Title In keeping with the historic tradition of Jackson County to provide for the aesthetic adornment of buildings and public property, I hereby promulgate the Jackson County Policy Respecting Expenditures for Aesthetic Adornment of Buildings and Public Property, as follows: Designs, plans, and specifications for the construction, reconstruction, or remodeling of any county building shall include appropriate provision for features of aesthetic ornamentation and adornment, including individual works of art, of such building. Provisions for such features shall be incorporated into such design, plans, and specifications in every case, unless waived in writing in any specific instance by the county executive. In the event that such features are so waived or dispensed with, the amount that would have been allocated to pay the cost thereof shall be available to be used, or accumulated with other moneys to be used, to pay the cost of and acquire features of aesthetic ornamentation and adornment, including individual works of art, of any county building or other public property. Where funds available for such construction, reconstruction, or remodeling of any such county building shall be, for any reason, insufficient or unavailable for the purpose of providing for such features, any other funds which may be available or which may be made available for such purpose, may be utilized to insure the incorporation of such features into such improvements. Projects calling for private or public building construction for redevelopment or urban renewal of blighted areas, insanitary areas, or undeveloped industrial areas, plans for which construction require the expenditure a portion of estimated construction costs for features of aesthetic ornamentation of buildings, are to be encouraged.
