A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a real estate sales contract for the purchase of property located at 103 Osage Street, Sibley, Missouri, to be used in connection with the Fort Osage Education Center, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $68,000.00.

Body

WHEREAS, the Homer Peek property is needed in connection with the new Fort Osage Education Center to replace storage and other uses formerly housed at the Fort Osage Visitor Center Building; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department and Tammy L. Ham, as successor in interest to Homer R. Peek, have agreed on a price of $68,000.00 as fair and just price for this property, located at 103 Osage Street, Sibley, Missouri; and,

 

WHEREAS, Tammy L. Ham, as successor in interest to Homer R. Peek, has agreed to convey ownership of the property by General Warranty Deed, for the agreed upon price; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute a real estate contract for the property located at 103 Osage Street, Sibley, Missouri; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforementioned purchase be and hereby is authorized, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is directed to issue a check in the amount of $6,800.00, upon execution of the contract, to Tammy L. Ham, as successor in interest to Homer R. Peek, with the payment of the balance of $61,200.00 to be paid pursuant to the direction of the Office of the County Counselor.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
