Body
WHEREAS, Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce president Nancy Bruns has received the Chamber of Commerce Executive of Missouri's (CCEM) Top Level Award; and,
WHEREAS, this award recognizes individuals who advance in the chamber profession and make a significant difference in the state; and,
WHEREAS, the award is only presented when the committee, consisting of past Top Level Award winners, deems a Missouri Chamber executive deserving of Top Level status; and,
WHEREAS, Nancy began her Chamber career in Independence in 1986, served four years as president in Raytown, and has been president of the Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce since November 2000; and,
WHEREAS, in 2005 Nancy received the Certified Chamber Executive designation (CCE) from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and was one of three CCEs in the State of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, Nancy has been an active member in the Missouri State Chamber Executives Association, serving on the Board of Directors from 1991 to 2004 and as president in 2002 and 2003; and,
WHEREAS, Nancy teaches at the Missouri Chamber's Chamber Management Academy and has also been on the Board of Leadership Missouri Alumni Association where she served as president in 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Nancy's involvement in the community includes Bi-County United Way and the FOX4 Love Fund; and,
WHEREAS, Nancy is the proud mother of son Kevin, who will begin his second year of college at Northwest Missouri State in the Fall 2007; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes Nancy Bruns as the recipient of the CCEM Top Level Award and extends sincere gratitude for her professionalism and leadership in the Jackson County community.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
