Body
WHEREAS, the Stoenner Road Bridge has deteriorated and must be replaced; and,
WHEREAS, the work on the Stoenner Road Bridge includes the removal of an existing double cell concrete culvert and construction of a new single span prestressed concrete bridge, minor reshaping of the roadway shoulders, placement of the rock blanket under the bridge, relocation of the water main, and other incidental work related to the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 24-068 for the construction of this project; and,
WHEREAS, a total of two responses were received and evaluated from the following:

and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Public Works recommend award for the construction of bridge improvements to Dondlinger & Sons Construction Company, Inc., of Wichita, KS , for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line-item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line-item adjustments, to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works, and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award, in forms to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
