WHEREAS, Qiana Thomason, Vice President of Clinical Operations for Blue KC, was recently named one of Ingram's Magazine's "Forty Under 40," Class of 2013 honorees; and,
WHEREAS, this prestigious designation recognizes the best in civic-minded, highly accomplished young executives in Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, Ingram's Magazine, a monthly publication covering the business community in Kansas City, established the "Forty Under 40" recognition to spotlight the future leaders of our community; and,
WHEREAS, Qiana earned this recognition because of her keen ability to use her talents and skills to effectively bring out the best in those around her; and,
WHEREAS, Qiana graduated summa cum laude from Florida A&M University in 1999 with a bachelor of science in social work and she earned a master's in social work from the University of Kansas in 2001; and,
WHEREAS, prior to her current position at Blue KC, Qiana served as the Deputy Director and Health and Human Services Liaison to U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan, and as the Clinical Director of the Behavioral Health Unit at Swope Health Services; and,
WHEREAS, Qiana's husband Cedric, and their two daughters, Zoe Von and Kai Noel, are justifiably proud of her recognition; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Qiana Thomason on the honor of being named one of Ingram's Magazine's 2013 "Forty Under 40."

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
