Body
WHEREAS, Put Down The Pipe provides a vehicle which allows community members with drug and alcohol addiction the opportunity to seek help and empower themselves to break the cycle of substance abuse; and,
WHEREAS, Put Down The Pipe has received a private grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield in the amount of $10,000.00 for its program; and,
WHEREAS, Put Down The Pipe has requested anti-drug sales tax matching funds in the amount of $6,000.00 to continue the program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends matching funding in the amount of $6,000.00 from his grant match account; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with Put Down The Pipe; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
