Body
WHEREAS, Tracie Rice, a dedicated and passionate member of the Blue Summit community, has tirelessly worked to enhance the quality of life for her neighbors; and,
WHEREAS, since 2019, Tracie has been a beacon of leadership by organizing neighborhood meetings, which ultimately led to the formation of the Blue Summit Neighborhood Association in 2023, an official 501(c)(3) organization; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie, often referred to as the "Queen of Blue Summit" or the unofficial "Mayor of Blue Summit," has taken immense pride in her community and has been a strong advocate and voice for its residents; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie, along with her son Jeremy, has successfully completed the University of Missouri - Kansas City Neighborhood Cohort training for Blue Summit, focusing on improving their neighborhood park, general beautification, creating a more welcoming Blue Summit, and fostering a healthier and safer community; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie has organized numerous community events and initiatives, including neighborhood clean-ups, Trunk or Treats, Back to School supply drives, Chili Cook Offs, and other functions that bring the community together; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie maintains the neighborhood social media pages, ensuring that residents are well-informed about important issues and events, further strengthening the sense of community; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie has resided in Blue Summit for 59 years, raising four children in this community, exemplifying her deep-rooted commitment and love for Blue Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Tracie’s contributions have significantly improved the quality of life in Blue Summit, making it a more vibrant, connected, and thriving community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby extends gratitude to Tracie Rice for her extraordinary dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Blue Summit community; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Tracie’s efforts have made a lasting impact, and she serves as an inspiring example of community spirit and civic responsibility.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
