IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the Heart of America United Way for its Kansas City Kidsafe Program, to provide a local match to a federal grant, in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00. Intro RESOLUTION #12811, July 19, 1999 INTRODUCED BY Dan Tarwater, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the Heart of America United Way's "Kansas City Kidsafe Program" works in partnership with numerous community organizations to reduce child abuse and neglect and prevent juvenile delinquency in Kansas City; and, WHEREAS, the Heart of America United Way has received a grant from the United States Department of Justice in the amount of $923,645.00 and a private grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in the amount of $75,000.00 for this program; and, WHEREAS, the Heart of America United Way has requested anti-drug sales tax matching funds in the amount of $50,000 for this program; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends matching funding in the amount of $50,000.00 from his grant match account; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the Heart of America United Way; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
