Body
WHEREAS, in connection with the remodeling of office space for use by the Sheriff's Department, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 110-98; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following:

Lee's Summit, MO
Jenkins & Associates, Inc. $126,000.00
Shawnee Mission, KS
Winn-Senter Construction Co. $130,000.00
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO
and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to River Oak, Inc., of Lee's Summit, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completion of this phase of work it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed $5,900.00, which is approximately 5% of the contract amount; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to approve additional expenditures which may become necessary under this contract in an amount not to exceed $5,900.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
