Body
 
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17231, dated March 29, 2010, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an agreement with Bruce Trammell, of Lee's Summit, MO for fiscal services for the Jackson County Drug Task Force (JCDTF) for a period of one year, at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,000.00; and,
 
WHEREAS, because Mr. Trammell's relationship with the JCDTF is more consistent with the IRS definition of an employee, he will be converted from an independent contractor to a part-time employee with the County, beginning April 1, 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, an extension to the existing Agreement is necessary to cover the costs of Mr. Trammell's services from January 1, 2011, through March 31, 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, this extension is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Jackson County Drug Task Force be and hereby is authorized to execute an extension to the agreement with Bruce Trammell, at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,460.80, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
