Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that it is in the County's best interest as the sponsor of the Jackson County Employees' Pension Plan (the Plan) to retain an experienced consultant to assess the current political climate in the State of Missouri, recommend appropriate strategies to benefit the Plan, inform the County on all pertinent legislative issues, and provide lobbying services as requested, as related to the Plan; and,
WHEREAS, Claire West Consulting, LLC, is qualified to perform these consulting services involved with issues relating to the Jackson County Employees' Pension Plan, in the same manner as performed in 2008 under the contract authorized by Resolution 16656, dated June 16, 2008, and in the same manner as performed in 2009 under the addendum authorized by Resolution 16832, dated February 17, 2009, including any legislative proposal or ordinance on the state and/or local level; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County a Consulting Agreement with Claire West Consulting, LLC, of Jefferson City, MO, at a cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
