Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded a grant in the amount of $56,477.00 to the Family Court Division of the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri for the Victim Advocacy Program; and,
WHEREAS, the Victim Advocacy program provides services to children and their non-offending family members seen at the Child Protection Center, a project of Jackson County Family Court Services; and,
WHEREAS, comprehensive services for the Victim Advocacy program will include crisis intervention, follow-up, referral and linkage to therapy and other needed community services, and support and advocacy throughout the investigation and any medical or court proceedings; and,
WHEREAS, the term of this grant is from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation of $56,477.00 is required in order to place the grant monies in the proper spending accounts for use by the Family Court Division; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:
