Body
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has a continuing need for the furnishing of soft drinks for resale in concessions operations; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.06, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award of twelve (12) month term and supply contracts for the furnishing of soft drinks for use by the Parks and Recreation Department concessions operations to Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Lenexa, KS and Pepsi America, Inc. of Olathe, KS as proprietary purchases; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing has determined that the items to be purchased are proprietary articles not available on the competitive market; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases is subject to annual appropriations; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that awards be made to Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Lenexa, KS and Pepsi America, Inc. of Olathe, KS, for the furnishing of soft drinks for twelve (12) month term and supply contracts as proprietary purchases, as recommended by the Director of Purchasing, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the awards; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments to the extent that sufficient appropriations are available.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
